Alem Korkut was born in 1970 in Travnik. He studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo and Zagreb, where he graduated in 1997. He is the author of several public sculptures: in Pazin, a bicycle monument in Koprivnica (2005), a monument to fallen defenders of the Homeland War in Šibenik (2006), Karlovac (2009) and Koprivnica (2016). He has won the Grand Prix of the 27th Youth Salon in Zagreb, the HDLU Annual Award for Young Artist in 2004, the Grand Prix of the Split Salon in 2009, and the third prize at the T-HT nagrada@msu.hr exhibition in 2011. He has exhibited at more than thirty solo and about one hundred and fifty group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He was a member of HZSU from 1998 to 2007. Since 2004 he has been a member of Artistic organization Atelieri Žitnjak. Since 2007 he teaches sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.
