Lauba proudly presents the spectacular exhibition Erwin Wurm: The Show, which will be taking place from the 3rd until the 25th of August in the House for People and Art.

Erwin Wurm (1954.) is an Austrian artist and one of the most important names on the global art scene. His works are kept in many museum collections, the most prominent of which being: MoMa (New York), Tate Modern (London), Centre Pompidou (Paris), MUMOK (Vienna), while he has also shown his works in numerous galleries and museums around the world.

Over 260 000 people went to see last year’s exhibition in the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, all while following Covid-19 safety regulations. Another interesting fact is that the Red Hot Chili Peppers used his sculptures in the video for their hit single ‘’Can’t Stop’’.

Through the use of humour and elements of the absurd the artist grapples with western mentality and symbols of success, sometimes taking scenes from our everyday lives and twisting them into forms that we might even find disturbing.

Wurm is playfully critical, which can be seen in the works that he will be showing to the Croatian audience.

His interactive work ‘’Narrow House’’ that we will be able to see was exhibited at the prestigious Bienalle in Venice.

His series One minute sculptures and an array of other spectacular works will be included in this world class exhibition which is going to be, we say with full confidence, the biggest one in Croatia in the past decade.

This amazing exhibition was realised with the great help of the Zagreb Tourist Board, Styria Media Group AG, Erste Bank, Austrian Cultural Forum, City of Vienna, City of Zagreb, Ministry of Culture, Gebrüder Weiss, Maistra.
