Lauba is happy to announce a new exhibition by our famous and renowned photographer Stanko Abadžić under the name Acts. The woman as a central theme in his works is captured by a camera in everyday situations. Abadžić doesn’t look for inspiration in professional models, but in the regular, sensual woman. With the play of light and shadow and expression of the body as an artistic medium, he empowers and destigmatizes the female form. With the careful selection of composition and framing, natural lighting, and an intimate atmosphere he reveals to us the secret world of the gentler sex.

 

Stanko Abadžić was born in 1952 in Vukovar. He worked as a correspondent for ‘Vjesnik’ for ten years, and his reportages from Tunisia, Malta, Turkey, and other countries during this time are quite famous. From 1991 onwards he lived abroad – after four years in Germany, he spent seven years in Prague, which had an immense influence on his artistic expression. He held numerous solo and group shows in the Czech Republic, as well as his biggest retrospective exhibition in the Chamber Gallery Home of Josef Sudko when his first monograph ‘In the Mirror of Life’ was printed. In 2002 he returns to the Croatian photography scene with a big exhibit in the museum Mimara, showcasing his most famous Prague series ‘In absentia’. He had solo exhibitions in many European countries (Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, etc.), Argentina, Japan and America. He was awarded numerous awards and acknowledgements and currently lives and works in Zagreb.

 

The exhibition Acts will be open May 21 to 31 2021 with the opening taking place on Friday, May 21 at 8pm. Epidemiological measures will be followed.

 

Tickets for the exhibition will be free on opening night, and the prices on other days are the following:
